I’m Matt Evans

Matt is an agile enthusiast who is an Accredited Kanban Trainer, ICA Agile Coach, SAFe Release Train Engineer, certified Scrum Master, and Product Owner with experience gained in the field of change management over the last decade. As well as in his career, Matt is a passionate member of the Agile Community, organizing the Heart of Agile Scotland meet-up group as well as regularly contributing to other events and conferences.

Having worked at the team, the team of teams, department, and division levels in accelerating business agility Matt can call upon various tools, techniques, frameworks, and approaches that can help you get you and your business where you want to be quicker.

How Business Agility works

So you’ve decided to leverage business agility. But what exactly is it? Agile isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a cultural shift that is vital to today’s business world.

Business agility is a way of working that breaks down complex tasks into smaller, more manageable pieces allowing us to pivot quickly as new information is discovered. It emphasizes collaboration, flexibility, and continuous improvement. Business agility encourages teamwork and empowers individuals to take ownership of their work. The benefits of business agility are clear: faster delivery, better quality, and happier teams.

Adopting Business agility can be challenging. It requires a shift in mindset and a willingness to embrace change. There are several steps involved, including training, coaching, leadership, and empowering teams to manage the work. Common challenges include time pressures to change overnight, resistance from or a lack of support from leadership, and difficulty scaling practices.

The success of Business agility can be measured in many ways. Some examples include increased customer satisfaction, improved employee engagement, and faster time to market. There are also many examples of success with business agility, such as Spotify, Google, and Amazon.
